My niece Sophia had her first birthday earlier this month. She is sooo freaking cute.

At least I'm on the right side of the tracks. Pacific is completely insane right now. Wednesday we cleared out my grandma's house and my uncle's who lives pretty much next door to her. Their houses got flooded last night. They have the coast guard out here, and they are actually arresting people. I've been taking pictures during different stages of the flood, but I figure I won't post them until its all over. Its rising pretty steadily. I think I heard its going up about a foot every hour. For those of you that know Pacific, the water is up to the coffee house, not inside it yet, but up to the sidewalk there. I'm hoping FEMA comes in and buys my grandma and uncles houses, because I really don't want to clean the houses after and then move everything back in.
I see that it has been August since my last post. I still get on here and read, just haven't really felt like posting anything on my own.
Still working at the cable company. It's pretty much just corporate bullshit. But what ya gonna do, I gotta pay the bills. Some of our friends and us have been talking about starting up our own business for a while now, we need to get that going so I can quit my job and be my own boss.
We went and got piercings last weekend. Dan got snake bites and I got both my nipples pierced. I've been so freaking horny since I got them done. Don't know if its just a coincidence or not.
We're going to a Bed & Breakfast tonight and tomorrow in Hermann. We just needed to get away for a few days. The place looks pretty nice. It has a fireplace and a 2 person jacuzzi with another fireplace next to it. I'm looking forward to it, hopefully get to relax and spend some quality time with my sexy beast of a husband.
I got into a fight last weekend with Ami. We're not speaking until she apologizes to me, and I don't really think that is gonna happen unless Matt makes her. I won't accept some bullshit apology either, I want a sincere one. I had to leave, because I wanted to punch her in the face, and if she had said one more word, I might have. Strangely though, when I got home that night, I felt so much better. I guess I needed to just let some shit out. Thanks for being such a bitch Ami, you caused me to let some steam out.
Well, I have to finish packing. Bye.
Not a whole lot has been going on lately, just hanging out and bullshitting mostly. I got a new laptop Friday. I love it. Not the one we went to Circuit City to get, but it's still pretty nice. Saturday we went to Jen's bday/housewarming party. Had a good time, would have had even more fun if it wasn't so freaking hot. This weather is driving me crazy.
So, we're going to Indy next week for GenCon, gonna be awesome. We had a hotel booked, but Denise, who is a hairdresser, hooked us up via one of her clients. This guy she knows owns several restaurants in the St. Louis area and just opened one up in Indy. Apparently he leases a few apartments and keeps them fully furnished for when he or friends/family go to Indy. He is gonna let us stay in one of them, which is 10 blocks from the convention center, plus its got a big plasma TV and pool. What more could we ask for? Well, maybe a maid, but we'll survive.=) So, that just gives us a little extra to spend on games and shit at GenCon.
I've been playing video games a lot lately. Joe gave me a game for PS2 called Disgaea which is awesome. It's a strategy RPG, and fun as hell. We bought a game for Nintendo Wii, but haven't found a Wii yet. I know, silly. We've been planning on getting one when we can find it, but we bought the game to play at a friends house, since they have one already.
Yep, I think that's about it. Till next month. Or the month after, who knows?
I'm actually posting something on LJ.
Not much has been going on with me, just working. I'm still working for the cable company. I did hate it, when I first started. Then they moved me to a different group of A/P, and I like it much better. Before I was just entering about 400 invoices into the computer everyday, very tedious crap. Now I'm doing a large variety of things. Mostly corresponding with different vendors, trying to get their invoices paid. I spend so much time on the computer at work, that I don't really feel like getting on it at home. I probably end up going through about emails every day. It also helps that I made a cool friend at work. Her name is Sarah, she's the same age as me, listens to the same kind of music, pretty much has very similar interests as me. Plus, she smokes, so I got a smoke buddy.
My brother is a daddy now. Her name is Sophia, and she was born on June 4. She's healthy and cute. She's also going to be very spoiled, considering she's the only grandchild and only great-grandchild of the family. It's very strange thinking of Josh as a dad.
I guess our big news at the moment is, we're going to GENCON, YAY. The exclamation point doesn't work on this keyboard, so I can't convey excitement very well, but trust me, I'm very excited. It's all Dan and I have been talking about for the past week. Chris and Denise are going with us. The only event we're pre-registering for is the Poker tournament. It's gonna be so awesome. I'm taking my camera, so I'll get lots of pictures.
Well, my cousin is supposed to be stopping in, so I'll get off here.
Its been forever since I updated. I'm working again, at the cable company. Been there for 3 weeks, and its pretty boring. I key in utility invoices all day long, sounds thrilling doesn't it? I had two other interviews last week. One was for a company in Rock Hill and I'm still waiting to hear if he has made his decision between me and two other people. The other one was for a trucking company in Fenton. This has been my best interview yet, the guy was super nice. He kinda looked like the older guy in Office Space that gets hurt really bad in the car accident. He informed me that day that he couldn't hire me for the position because I don't have a degree. He had me take some test and i apparantly did pretty good, and he seemed to really like my experience and everything I knew, but he wanted someone who was familiar with stuff that I didn't know. I guess this person would have learned those things had they gotten an accounting degree. He did say there may be some other positions that I would be good for, and they may be contacting me about those. Well, yesterday someone else from the company called me about a payroll position, I am meeting with him for breakfast Monday morning.
I need to get off here, Dan and I are going car shopping, his is about dead. It sucks too, cuz I was liking not having a car payment, for either of our cars. I'm probably gonna need a new one in a year or two.
I just have one more thing to say before I get off here, Melissa is a fucking cunt.
Seen lots of movies lately, and I'm probably gonna miss a few of them.
The Prestige - This movie was pretty good. David Bowie rocks, I love his different colored eyes. Too bad he wasn't dressed up like he was in The Labyrinth. Christian Bale was awesome, and Scarlett Johansson is always a pleasure to look at.
Stranger than Fiction - I loved it. Will Ferrell always makes me laugh. This isn't his normal sort of role, but he did really good nonetheless.
Howl's Moving Castle - This anime rocked. I was afraid it would be all disney bullshit, since it was bought by disney, but it was very good.
Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny - Very funny.
Keeping Mum - Entertaining, but a bit predictable. Everyone did a great job. The daughter was pretty fucking hot. Patrick Swayze was just plain creepy.
Fritz the Cat - An old cartoon, but I hadn't ever seen it. It is very daring, especially for 1972. I liked it a lot.
The Comedians of Comedy - This is a documentary following around comedians Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Maria Bamford & Zach Galifianakis. They are freaking hilarious. My favorite is Brian Posehn.
Fooly Cooly (Vol. 1) - Not really a movie, but the first two episodes of the show. It was very strange, yet I liked it. I'm still not sure what was going on exactly, so I'm hoping the next episodes will fill me in a bit.
The Departed - Excellent film, and excellent acting.
That's all I can remember at the moment. Most likely the others weren't that memorable.
I just got done re-reading George R.R. Martin's books A Game of Thrones & A Clash of Kings. There are four books of the series out now, with three more to come. According to
grrm HBO has picked up the rights to make the series into a show. I'm so excited about this. These are my favorite books. They intend on making a season out of every book. Yay! Too bad its gonna be a few years before it airs.
